i thought that being hirable is what defined an NPC. what makes the hobo oracle and laurie different? should fat freddy and faran brygo be added to that list? if so, can you create a template for those type of pages?

continuing to think about this, are they 'non-hirable NPCs' becuase you have to actually engage them in order to fight, they wont attack otherwise? -- satan165 03:55, 13 April 2008

If you know some other good name for "Non-hirable NPC" then I'm happy about suggestions. NPC (Non-Player Character) sounds like ALL Characters which are not controlled by the player. Well, this definition might mean that the hirable NPCs are not really NPCs ;-)
Well, Ellen and the Hobo Oracle are no different to all the others. The Non-hirable NPC list is simply incomplete. So Faran Brygo and Fat Freddy and all the others belong to this list as well.
A template is difficult. Because the non-hirable NPCs are so different. Some of them can have a conversation, some of them are "just there", some of them are encounters so you can fight them. -- k 07:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I just went through the entire list of encounters http://wasteland.wikis.ailis.de/wiki/Encounter trying to find others to add to the short list at the bottom (which is marked 'this list is far from complete' and the only one i could think of was Harry. Is that it? Should we remove the 'far from complete' note? -- satan165 03:19, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

I remember at least one missing NPC: Finster. I'm not sure if there are more, it's time to play Wasteland again :-) --k 11:38, 3 October 2011 (CEST)
I considered adding Finster but then was torn if I should have added all the incarnations that you encounter during the mind maze, etc...so I decided not to and to leave the whole issue alone. What do you think? -- satan165 11:03, 03 October 2011
There is only one real Finster. I think all these other Finster thingees are just lesser minions of his mind. --k 18:05, 3 October 2011 (CEST)
