Description
From the Wasteland Manual: The desert sands don't blanket the entire earth. This will come in handy in those spots where you have to swim.
Uses
One mandatory use is in the Temple of Blood during the Needles quest, to get to the inner sanctum. You must swim across the surrounding moat, or (more likely) take drowning damage.
Two other areas bear mention. One is the swimming pool in the Stage Coach Inn (Quartz), and the other is what appears to be the Colorado River on the main map. Note that the river will sweep you south.
